About the Founder

Janneke Feenstra founded May James in the UAE in 2024. Born in the UAE, she left to successfully pursue an Undergraduate and a Masters degree in Leeds, UK and St Andrews, Scotland.

After eight years working in international business in Amsterdam and London Janneke moved back home to the UAE in 2024 to establish May James.

Founded in the UAE in 2024, May James has gained international traction with clients in the UK, US and Australia. Influenced by the creative and fashion hubs of Dubai, Amsterdam and London, the founder's roots.  May James designs are a fusion of avant-garde naturalist concepts and the finest sculptural craftsmanship. Drawing inspiration from the eclectic energy of these cities, we infuse each sculptural piece with contemporary allure and artistic expression.

We transcend the boundaries of design, fashion and sculptural art, by combining these specialties together through expert artistry to create meticulously sculpted, one-off wearable art pieces. Each creation is made of solid recycled precious metal and embellishments are created using precious ethically sourced gemstones. ​

Whether it's reimagining a family heirloom, creating custom engagement or wedding jewellery or conceptualizing a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, we embark on a journey with our clients, weaving together heritage and modernity to create jewellery that transcends generations.

Jewellery Repair 

We offer a jewellery repair service for our items which all come with a 10 year warranty. We also offer repair services for your other pieces of jewellery such as creating a matching earring, fitting a link, jewellery restoration, or completely remastering a piece by melting and recreating it.
